This is a digital piece I did using Procreate where I used my love for music to help drive the artwork. I was also inspired by an album cover by the K-Pop group Seventeen, where there were multiple objects floating in the air. I wanted to showcase instruments flying around and off the page of sheet music. I created my own piece of sheet music as the background, drawing each line and symbol and used music notes that would be seen on that paper as the notes that are coming from the page. As a child, I played many instruments, so I picked the drums and guitar which were some of my favorites and the microphone because you can always find me belting out a song.
I feel that this artwork connects to Zoe’s sense of whimsy through the wide variety of colors, specifically pastels that I noticed were very prevalent in Zoe’s work. Just like Zoe I use art as an escape from the rest of the world around me. This artwork gives me the chance to escape into a world full of music where you can see the music as it is being played.
